“We hope to give back when Liliya is older, and can really appreciate the different things your organization does”
Just before Liliya was diagnosed with cancer she was bright and cheery. She was busy doing “toddler things” with her twin brother, such as potty training, playing and learning.
Liliya was only 2 ½ when diagnosed. “It was probably the worst day of our lives,” said her father, speaking of the day Liliya was diagnosed. He said Liliya continued to amaze them at how brave and strong she was. “Liliya always put on a smile, even throughout the worst of the treatments.” As the family went through hardships and stress with Liliya receiving treatment, this event in their life made their family grow even closer together and learned, “not to sweat the small stuff,” said Liliya’s dad.
Pinky Swear was able to offer financial help and also emotional help to Liliya and her family in the form of mortgage payments and through the Pinky Swear Pantry program.
Liliya is now 15 months past her final chemo treatment and “she is doing great,” notes her dad. She has been able to return to her bright and cheery self and has become even stronger after this experience. Liliya had a recent check-up and thankfully is still cancer free! “We hope to give back when Liliya is older and can really appreciate the different things your organization does,” writes Liliya’s dad expressing his appreciation for Pinky Swear Foundation.
