If you are a family with littles, you are probably always trying to find things to keep your kids busy and teach them to be kind humans. Why not host a fundraiser to help kids with cancer and their families?
Fundraising can feel like a daunting task. No one likes asking people for money. We get it! But there are ways to make it fun and I think you will find the ideas below to be pretty low stakes when it comes to “the ask.”
- “Popsicles for Pinky Swear.” Okay this one has a cute ring to it doesn’t it?! Head to Costco and grab a big box of freeze pops, grab a cooler and some lawn chairs, and set up at a busy intersection near your house! Don’t forget the sign and QR code with your fundraising info on it!
- Host a bake sale. Have a kiddo that loves to bake? Sell your goods at the next baseball game or to neighbors!
- Have a Car Wash. This might be for the older kids in your life, but gather the hose and car washing supplies and your neighbors will be lining up to have their cars washed for charity!
- Sports tournament. Have a large backyard or access to a sports complex? Host a backyard baseball tournament or soccer game benefitting Pinky Swear.
- Sell your arts/crafts! Have an artist in the house? Sell creative works and donate the proceeds to Pinky Swear Foundation to help kids with cancer and their families!
- Concession stands. Ask a local sports team concession stand to give a percentage or dollar amount to kids with cancer and their families from the season’s sales.
- Lemonade stand. Who doesn’t like a glass of ice-cold lemonade?
- Movie night (virtual or in-person). Rent a projector and watch a favorite film in your own backyard, school, community center, on Zoom, etc. Sell admission tickets, buttery popcorn, candy, and soda.
