Hy-Vee Announces Register Round-Up to Help Kids with Cancer

THE MIDWEST RETAIL STORE PARTNERS ONCE AGAIN WITH PINKY SWEAR FOUNDATION

DES MOINES, IOWA – [October 17, 2022] – Hy-Vee is excited to announce it will continue to support children facing a cancer diagnosis through Pinky Swear Foundation by hosting a register round-up at all Hy-Vee locations this fall. Hy-Vee will encourage customers to donate to kids with cancer by rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar at checkout between October 17-31.

“Right now, there is an abundance of struggle in the childhood cancer space.” said Erica Campbell, executive director at Pinky Swear Foundation. “Today’s inflation and economic challenges are overwhelming. We are thankful for Hy-Vee and their generous support during these challenging times.”

At participating Hy-Vee stores, the round-up can be applied to any transaction – whether made via cash, credit, or debit with both cashiers and self-check-out terminals. The program will generate a minimum donation of $100,000 to ease the financial burden of childhood cancer. Pinky Swear Foundation’s All-Star Fund provides direct financial support for basic needs such as groceries, gas, mortgage, and car payments.

Pinky Swear Foundation has provided more than $20 million in financial assistance and quality of life support to kids with cancer and their families. Their programs have helped thousands of families whose children have bravely battled the ugliness of cancer.
