Kids Triathlon Raises Money for Pediatric Cancer Patients

DAVIDSON — Dozens of children, some as young as 6-years-old, swam, biked and ran Saturday to help kids with cancer.

6-year-old Davis Overcash was one of those children and teens who participated in the Pinky Swear Foundation triathlon.

He said he couldn’t participate last year because he was battling liver cancer.

But this year he’s been in remission for a year, so he decided to participate.

Pinky Swear was founded 13 years ago when Steve Chepokas made a promise to his son, who died of cancer. He promised that he would continue to help families that are affected by pediatric cancer.

The money raised helps to pay for the families’ non-medical expenses.
