Hy-Vee
Since 2015, Hy-Vee and Pinky Swear Foundation have partnered to create fun, accessible and engaging athletic events for children at all fitness levels. Hy-Vee and Hy-Vee KidsFit are committed to providing health and wellness events and activities that engage their customers and benefit their communities. Only one out of three children are physically active every day and only one in three adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week.
These events have allowed kids to get physically active, but also have given kids the opportunity to give back to their peers who are facing an incredibly difficult circumstance: childhood cancer. The money raised from these events goes directly toward easing the financial and emotional impacts experienced by children with cancer and their families. In many cases, the money provides basic needs, such as mortgage and rent, transportation, utilities, gas cards and food.
“We are extremely pleased to collaborate with the Pinky Swear Foundation and their commendable efforts in raising funds and awareness for children with cancer,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, CEO and president of Hy-Vee. “Being involved in our communities is a top priority at Hy-Vee. In working with the foundation and local hospitals, we hope to engage families in fitness, raise funds for those in need and have a little fun in the process.”
