Bloomington, MN (August 13, 2018) -The Pinky Swear Foundation has officially accepted a challenge grant of $300,000 from the Harper Family Foundation to increase peer fundraising efforts in order to help more kids with cancer and their families. The Pinky Swear Foundation has until December 31, 2018 to raise $300,000 strictly through peer-to-peer fundraising efforts and must reach this goal in order to receive the full matching grant of $300,000. If the goal is not raised, no additional match dollars will be awarded.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Pinky Swear’s efforts to help kids with cancer and their families,” says Erica Campbell, executive director for Pinky Swear Foundation. “It’s a lofty goal, but we are determined to reach it and help that many more families around the country. It’s also really fun to see all of the creative ways that people get involved.”
What is peer fundraising?
Peer fundraising is any time when you ask friends, family, or community members for donations. When you fundraise for Pinky Swear Foundation, you’re helping children with cancer and their families by providing basic needs support. Peer fundraising is very easy.
Examples include:
- Register for an upcoming Pinky Swear event and get your own personal fundraising page
- Start a Facebook fundraiser
- Host a lemonade stand
- Hosting a karaoke night at your favorite local restaurant where everyone donates
- Plan a kickball tournament where registration fees go towards Pinky Swear
- Instead of gifts, pledge your next celebration or event to help kids with cancer and their families
