Charlotte, NC (May 8, 2019) – Pinky Swear Foundation is excited to host the annual Pinky Swear Kid’s Triathlon on Sunday, June 2. The outdoor event invites kids ages 6-18 to swim, bike and run to support the mission of helping kids with cancer and their families with financial and emotional support. A special Fun Run is also available for kids 5 and younger.
“This is truly one of my favorite events of the year,” states Sue Ratcliff, Pinky Swear Foundation North Carolina area director. “Watching ‘the lightbulb’ turn on inside all of the participants is such a wonderful feeling. I am always so amazed at the outpour of community support to push our mission to help kids with cancer and their families forward. The Kid’s Triathlon participants really are the epitome of kids helping kids.”

*New This Year:Pinky Swear Foundation is eliminating registration fees and instead encouraging participants to fundraise a minimum of $35 to participate in the North Carolina Kids Triathlon ($15 dollars covers your event t-shirt, swim cap, medal and event overhead. $20 goes to support Pinky Swear Foundation and our mission of helping kids with cancer).
“My two boys, Jonah and River, love participating in the triathlon,” says Cecilia Peedin, mom to All-Star River. “It is so awesome to see the community come together for such a great cause like childhood cancer. It makes you feel like you aren’t alone in this fight and that so many people have your back.
“Not only will we hopefully raise even more money to help even more families, but this new strategy of community fundraising will hopefully help spread awareness about our mission and how hard we work to support our incredible All-Stars, as well,” continued Ratcliff.
