Twin Cities Kids Chef Event Aims to Raise Crucial Funds to Help Kids with Cancer

Bloomington, MN (October 30, 2018) – Experience the Twin Cities kids culinary event of the year with the 2018 Kids Chef Event on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Hilton MSP Airport/Mall of America Hotel. Guests will enjoy delicious food tastings from various teams of 10 kid chefs lead by local notable chefs. All proceeds benefit Pinky Swear Foundation to help kids with cancer and their families.

“This is the second year for this event and last year the kids’ skills blew me away,” says Erica Campbell, executive director for Pinky Swear Foundation. “This is such a fun and creative example of how kids are helping kids with cancer. I am always amazing by the dedication and generosity of these amazing young people.”

Participants of the event will be made up of kids, ages 5-18, on teams of 10 with 1 (or more) All Star (brave child battling cancer) per team. Chefs from notable eateries such as Manny’s, Pittsburgh Blue and other high-end restaurants in the metro area, will serve as team captains to guide the participants in making dishes to be served at the tasting portion of the event later in the evening.

Each team will be responsible for working with their designated chef from 3:00-6:00 pm in preparing, cooking and then plating the food for all guests that attend the tasting.

The ticketed tasting portion of the event (6:00-8:00 pm), emceed by KFAN’s Chris Hawkey, will offer event guests the opportunity to visit each of the team stations and taste each item (entrée, vegetable, starch). Guests will be asked to rank the teams later (or vote for one winner). Drinks will also be served.
