MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 18, 2025) – From a college apartment project to a nationwide movement that’s supported over 270,000 children battling cancer, Love Your Melon’s story has come full circle. One of the original founders, Zachary Quinn, has reacquired the brand from Win Brands Group and is relaunching this fall as LYM. New and classic products will return with the beloved Buy One, Give One program, recharging the mission to bring comfort and hope to kids battling cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

“This is personal. It always has been,” said Zachary Quinn, Founder and CEO of LYM. “We started this company in our college apartment with a simple idea to give a hat to every child battling cancer. That mission still drives everything we do. Now, with my family by my side, we’re bringing LYM back to its roots and building toward something even bigger. This isn’t just a comeback, it’s a calling, and we’re just getting started.”

LYM: The New Chapter in a Movement That Gives Back

LYM is more than a name change—it’s a bold evolution of the brand’s identity. While still rooted in the original mission of comfort, community, and care, LYM is built for today’s conscious consumers who want to look good while doing good. With elevated design and a deeper emotional purpose, LYM is creating a community where everyone makes a difference.

This September, coinciding with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, LYM reintroduces its signature “Buy One, Give One” program. With each beanie purchased, another is donated to a child battling cancer or to the families and caregivers who share in that fight. Marked with the new blue tag, every beanie carries a message of hope and solidarity.

New Look. Same Heart. Bigger Impact.

Since 2012, LYM has donated more than $10 million to pediatric cancer programs that directly support families, including Pinky Swear Foundation and M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. That need has only grown: one in five families struggles with food, transportation, housing, or utility insecurity after a childhood cancer diagnosis. After six months of chemotherapy, one-third of families struggle to pay even one of those bills.

“Support from donors and partners like LYM makes our mission possible, to help families with household essentials like housing, food, and transportation while their child is in treatment,” said MaryBeth Meyer, Director of Marketing at Pinky Swear Foundation. “LYM's renewed commitment means more families can focus on what matters most - caring for their child. We are proud to be part of this next chapter.”

Fifteen percent from every accessory, add-on, and warehouse sale item purchased helps fund family services, emotional support programs, and vital resources such as the Love Your Melon Family Resource Center located in the lobby of M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. This warm, welcoming space includes a family lounge, a library with books and games for kids, and an event space.

“From the very first hat drop to thousands of hats later, LYM has been woven into the fabric of M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital’s story,” said Aimee Nelson, Director of Children’s Services M Health Fairview Pediatrics. “Their unwavering generosity and joyful presence have impacted the lives of countless patients and families, creating moments of comfort and hope that last far beyond a hospital stay.”

The LYM is Back Collection

New LYM products drop Monday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. CT at lym.com. The relaunch includes two core collections:

  • Essentials Collection ($30): Featuring the all-new LYM logo on a signature blue tag, this line is warm and comfortable beanies in a variety of colors that can be worn cuffed and slouchy-beanie style.
  • Classic Collections ($30 or $35 with pom): The favorite classic styles featuring the original Love Your Melon leather patch in an expansive color collection and styles from cuffed to slouchy beanies and pom beanies.

Customers can also shop accessories and add-ons, including poms, wash bags, patches, and sticker packs.

A special warehouse sale will take place in Minneapolis, offering exclusive styles and limited-time merchandise through the holiday season. Details will be announced through official LYM channels.

Wear Your Impact

For kids undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, beanies do more than keep them warm—they restore a sense of normalcy and belonging. Each beanie given is a tangible sign that a community is standing behind them.

LYM is set to make its biggest impact yet with the brand relaunch. Every beanie sold means another is donated to a child battling cancer. Colors will sell out quickly, with restocks and new styles being added frequently online and through the Minneapolis-based popup store.

New LYM products will be finished in the USA with operations in Portland, Ore., and Minneapolis supporting jobs and local economies in both cities.
