Marketing Assistant

Position Summary:

This is a temporary, part-time, hybrid role from February 2026 - May 2026 and requires 10-15 hours worked per week. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills while helping Pinky Swear evaluate how additional marketing support can best strengthen Pinky Swear’s reach and impact. While the initial role is temporary, Pinky Swear is open to considering the temporary employee for a regular position, including the potential of increased hours, if an opening becomes available.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media 

• Monitor and engage with comments, partner organizations, and cancer-related influencers 
• Serve as a point of contact for the development team on social interactions with third-party fundraisers 
• Research social media best practices and make suggestions to marketing team 

Media Relations 

• Draft news releases and media alerts 
• Support follow-up with journalists and media contacts 

General Support 

• Assist with organizing stories, photos, and quotes from families and partners 
• Help track basic analytics for social media and media campaigns 
• Provide support for events as needed 

Required Education and Experience:

• Proficiency and passion across all major social media platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
• Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in marketing, public relations or similar field or equivalent lived experience preferred.
• Highly collaborative, creative, curious, energetic, and self-directed with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to Pinky Swear Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the employee including:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
