Help Kids with Cancer

On this 10th Anniversary, NEWS RADIO 1040 WHO will once again partner with Pinky Swear Foundation, and devote an entire day on-air to raise crucial financial support to help kids with cancer and their families! The goal is to raise $350,000 to provide transportation, food and housing payments for childhood cancer families.

All-Star Beau was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at the age of three. The family had previously waved to families at University of Iowa hospitals and now they were "The Wave" recipients. Tune in to hear their story!

All-Star Sage

Sage has inspired his mom Betsey to write a book after his Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia diagnosis in January of 2023. This year, you will hear from Betsey on how it is going!

All-Star Ophelia

Ophelia was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of five. Your support made it easier for the family to take time off work to be with her during her treatment and 11 day stay in the hospital.

All-Star Isaac

Isaac had a rough start to life being airlifted to the nearest NICU two hours away where he spent his first month of life. His mother, Amanda called in to tell us more of his story.

All-Star Reese

Reese is a spunky 2nd grader diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was 16 months old. Her dad Eric told us her story.

All-Star Olivia

Olivia was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma just before her 6th birthday in July of 2021. She endured 66 weeks of chemo at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and four weeks of radiation in Rochester. On December 3, 2022 had her last chemo and rang the end of treatment bell.
