Q: What drew you to Pinky Swear Foundation?
A: Mitch’s story is captivating. His generosity and selflessness inspired me to get involved with Pinky Swear and it’s what keeps me passionate about serving families today. If you haven’t heard the story, I encourage you to watch it.
Q: There are a lot of organizations that support the cancer community. What about Pinky Swear’s mission stands out to you?
A: Pinky Swear’s practical mission speaks to my heart. The immediate assistance with financial challenges that families face every day is so important.
Q: What do each of the Pinky Swear values (Compassion, Collaboration, Celebration) mean to you?
A: Compassion is not having to understand the whole story to help. It’s giving people grace when I’m frustrated because they might be going through an unseen hardship. I think of collaboration as being better together and working towards the ultimate goal of helping as many families as possible. Celebration is taking time to honor each win, no matter the size.

Q: Is there a particular accomplishment during your tenure on the Board of Directors that you’re proud of?
A: I’m super proud of the Pinky Swear staff and I’m in awe of the staff’s positive attitudes; charging forward when other people may have gotten discouraged or given up. We always keep the mission top of mind.
Q: What talents do you bring to the Board of Directors?
A: I bring a positive energy to the Board. I try to use the skills I have in the areas of corporate finance and internal controls to provide reasonable guidance and healthy governance.
Q: What have you learned during your time on the Board of Directors?
A: I have learned so much and I feel that I have so much more to learn. This experience has taught me to be grateful in new ways, how to guide vs. do, strategic thinking, and humility.
Q: What are your hopes for Pinky Swear Foundation in the childhood cancer space?
A: I believe Pinky Swear will continue to grow and make a huge impact for real families that are facing real challenges!
Q: If there was one thing you wanted people to know about Pinky Swear Foundation, what would it be?
A: You can make a difference for families in so many ways. A $5 a month donation or telling a friend about Pinky Swear can help families in need!
💙 Thank you, Julie, for all that you do to support kids with cancer and their families. We are so lucky to have you!
