Meet Adam Faitek, Pinky Swear's new executive director. With deep respect for the mission and a vision for the future, Adam is excited to join the Pinky Swear team. We sat down with him to learn more about what inspires him, his hopes for the organization, and a few fun facts you may not know.
What excited you most about joining Pinky Swear Foundation?
First, I was really excited by the mission and origin story. What Mitch had done to provide support to other families was such an act of generosity that we should all aspire to. What Becky and Steve have done to ensure Mitch’s legacy lives on by helping thousands of families is unbelievable.
I was also excited by the great group of staff, board members, and supporters I have met during my brief time so far. It is clear there is a lot of talent and passion for the mission, and I am excited to be part of such a strong team.
Finally, while I have been fortunate that I do not have direct experience with childhood cancer, I know that personal tragedy can strike any of us.
When I was 16, my father passed away. It was the people and community around me who helped me get through this incredibly difficult period in my life. That support also allowed me to focus on what mattered most, those final moments with my dad. I believe our work at Pinky Swear helps All Star Families focus on their time together, and there is nothing more important than that.

What is your vision for Pinky Swear in the next few years?
I truly believe we can live into our vision of saying yes to every family, and I am excited to work with our staff, board members, donors, volunteers, and All-Star Families to reach that goal. The organization has grown so much in the last decade, and my vision is to help us meet the substantial increase in need (more than 30 percent in the last year) and make substantial progress toward that vision.
What is your go-to fuel to get through a busy day?
I am a person of routine, so I start every morning with oatmeal, brown sugar, and peanuts. A cup of coffee is also a must.
Childhood cancer is heavy. How do you stay grounded?
I try to express gratitude for the many close relationships in my life, including my family, friends, and coworkers. I also hope to always stay close to the impact of our programs so I can have as good an understanding as possible of what our All-Star Families are going through.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
I try to live by the motto: “Do what you say you are going to do.”
What book, show, or podcast is on your nightstand or playlist right now?
I just finished Artemis by Andy Weir and Holly by Stephen King. I also watch Maine Cabin Masters with my wife to unwind at the end of the night. Book recommendations are always welcome!
If you could pick a theme song for your first year leading Pinky Swear, what would it be?
“Land of Hope and Dreams” by Bruce Springsteen.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to help families facing cancer but does not know where to start?
Start with something simple and straightforward: an act of solidarity and love.
Please take a moment to connect with him on LinkedIn, share your ideas, or simply say hello. If you have insights, resources, or funding opportunities that could help families facing childhood cancer, he would love to hear from you. Let’s give Adam a warm welcome and celebrate the next chapter of Pinky Swear together!
