Bloomington, MN (September 28, 2018) – Pinky Swear Foundation is thrilled to announce over $35,600 was raised via their Super Duper Match Day 2018 online peer fundraising event on Thursday, September 13. During this 24-hour initiative, Pinky Swear utilized various social media platforms, including Facebook LIVE, to encourage community supporters around the country to start their own online fundraisers and raise crucial funds to support their mission of helping kids with cancer and their families with financial and emotional support.“It was incredible to see our social media fans and followers jump at the opportunity to help support our mission,” says Erica Campbell, Pinky Swear Foundation’s executive director. “It was a great opportunity for our organization to really highlight the fact that no gift is too small when it comes to helping kids with cancer and their families. I am blown away at the collective amount we were able to raise in such a short period of time just from using social media.”
During the day-long online event, Pinky Swear Foundation social media fans and followers created personal and collective fundraising pages to raise donations of all sizes from their separate networks. These efforts resulted in $17,812 raised to support the Pinky Swear mission. Thanks to a generous matching gift from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, Super Duper Match Day was made possible and doubled the total amount raised to $35,625.
“These generous gifts will help the Pinky Swear team be able to say yes to more families around the country who have a child battling cancer,” continues Campbell. “A special thank you to our friends at the Northwestern Mutual Foundation for their amazing matching gift. They are invaluable partners and we are so grateful.”About Pinky Swear Foundation
